The NBA digitial team sought to present our vision for a future NBA premium video service that would be the premier destination for dynamic live game experiences, and a library of on demand basketball content.

We went with a lite on boarding that would provide fans an opportunity to customize their experience while getting them into the product quickly.

We wanted the homepage to show content that was relevant to our users interests. We prioritized surfacing content that was user directed (e.g. a user watched a show or added it to their list) and presented content that other fans were engaging with to drive a sense of community.

We created a dynamic interactive player that allows fans to easily switch between live games, stream alternate broadcasts, view stats, chat with friends, and even make live bets with NBA Pick'Em right in the player.

Content is king — we learned that non-game content drives fans to investment in players' performance on the court, on the flip side fans might be impressed by a player's stellar performance and seek out content to learn more about them. A virtuous cycle of engagement.
